How do I cite a web page using MLA citation style?

Answer

Works cited entries for web pages using MLA 9th ed.

  • If a web page lacks an author, begin with the title of the web page.
  • Although not required, the optional access date is located at the end of each citation.
  • Each works cited example is shown with its in-text citation.

Examples:

("Coronavirus Disease")

“Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Advice for the Public.” World Health Organization, 31 Mar. 2020, www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/advice-for-public. Accessed 21 Apr. 2020.

(Toner 2)

Toner, Eric. "Interim Estimate of US PPE Needs for COVID-19.” Center for Health Security. John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. 18 Apr. 2020, www.centerforhealthsecurity.org/resources/COVID-19/PPE/PPE-estimate.pdf. Accessed 22 Apr. 2020.
