What is a DOI? How do I find an article by its DOI?

Digital Object Identifier

Answer

A digital object identifier (DOI) is a persistent identifier used to identify objects, such as journal articles, uniquely. DOIs are often present in the citation information or record. The string will follow a prefix/suffix format. For example, the DOI in the URI http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.ecoenv.2014.01.019 would be 10.1016/j.ecoenv.2014.01.019

You can locate an article by its DOI using our Libkey.io tool. Simply paste in the DOI and click the "Find Article" button.
